ZOOM ON THE HONDA EG4000CL-WK

In a nutshell, the Honda EG4000CL is a portable generator mostly geared towards:

- RV travelers looking for even more independence

- People occasionally participating in sporting competitions, open-air performances, and outdoor festivals

- Amateur DIY lovers

- Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges, cooking tools, heating, and lighting equipment during power failures

- Professionals who want to ensure that a power failure will not prevent them from working

POWER & RUN TIME

The Honda EG4000CL's engine, 270 cc Honda GX270 OHV 4-stroke, fueled by gasoline, can deliver 120/240V. It provides a running wattage of 3,500W and reaches a peak wattage of 4,000W.

At a noise rating of 66 dBA (less noisy than background music), the generator is started via a conventional pull-start mechanism.

The EG4000CL can operate for around 14.8 hours at 50% load with a full tank (fuel consumption around 0.43 GPH), due to its fuel capacity of 6.3 gallons.

PORTABILITY

The Honda EG4000CL has a conventional, open-frame design, of the following dimensions: L26.8 x W20.9 x H22.5 in, which offers support and allows it to be raised above ground level. The device has been designed for tough environments and demanding outdoor use.

While the generator is considered to be technically 'portable' (in the sense that you can move it), manually lifting and transporting it may be challenging, due to its high weight of 146.4 lbs. Thus, you may also want to consider purchasing a wheel kit.

FEATURES

The generator allows for a quick, easy, and convenient assessment of its gas level, as it is equipped with a built-in fuel gauge.

As for its security measures, the device features overload protection (circuit breaker) and automatic low oil shut-off (Oil Alert®), letting you use it with peace of mind.

Along with the aforementioned features, from an accessory standpoint, the Honda EG4000CL's box includes typical documentation and an owner's manual, which will help you start your generator promptly. An official storage cover is available as a separate purchase.

CO MINDER

Honda's CO Minder is a system that monitors the ambient carbon monoxide concentration and automatically stops the engine if the sensor detects a CO level of or exceeding 800 parts per million (ppm) at a given time, or an average of 400 ppm for 10 minutes.

A CO alarm indicator will flash for about five minutes, during which it will be impossible to restart the engine.

DAVR TECHNOLOGY

DAVR technology (Digital Automatic Voltage Regulation) holds the voltage stability within a ±1% change during operation and thus offers a more stable voltage than conventional generators. This results in better performance and better protection of your tools.

The DAVR has a built-in self-diagnosis function to prevent the engine speed from exceeding 4,140 rpm for longer than three seconds and abnormal voltage. Additionally, a built-in temperature protection system protects the generator from overheating.
